How we operate
How we operate
Reinvantage is a UK-registered social enterprise.
We operate commercially, and our work with companies, public institutions, development organisations and ecosystems helps fund the continued development of Reinvantage’s methods, research and capability-building infrastructure.
Commercial discipline allows us to invest in work designed to strengthen institutions over the longer term.
Commercially disciplined. Purpose-bound.
Reinvantage earns revenue through diagnostics, advisory work, institutional redesign and programmes such as Beyond Borders.
That revenue supports the business and continued investment in the Reinvantage Operating System, applied research, new tools and methods, and work that strengthens organisational and ecosystem capability.
The social-enterprise model explains what the commercial engine ultimately supports.
We build capability, not dependency.
A successful engagement should leave an organisation better able to act without Reinvantage than it was before the work began.
That means transferring understanding, strengthening institutional mechanisms and helping leadership embed ways of working that can continue after the intervention ends.
Continued support may sometimes be useful, but dependency is not the objective.
We distinguish activity from consequence.
Programmes, workshops, meetings and reports show that work took place. They do not, by themselves, show what changed.
We distinguish between what people learned, what they applied, what changed inside the organisation, what the market validated and what ultimately translated into commercial or institutional outcomes.
This matters particularly in development and ecosystem work, where activity is easy to count and durable change is harder to establish.
Where we reinvest
Our commercial work helps support continued investment in:
01
Institutional capability
Developing methods and mechanisms that help organisations renew themselves more effectively.
02
Applied research
Deepening our understanding of future relevance, organisational renewal and where value is moving.
03
Programme development
Improving programmes such as Beyond Borders and the tools, evidence systems and delivery models behind them.
04
Ecosystem capability
Supporting work that strengthens groups of organisations, sectors and institutional systems.
The commercial model supports the purpose.
Reinvantage exists to help organisations remain relevant, renew deliberately and continue creating value as their environment changes.
Operating as a social enterprise gives us a structure in which commercial work can support longer-term investment in institutional capability.
